CPI- 8.1.8A2 - Plan and create a simple database, define fields, input data and produce a report using sort and query.

Strand E - Research and Information Fluency

CPI - 8.1.8E1 - Gather and analyze findings to produce a possible solution for a content-related or real world problem using data collection technology.

Objectives:

Students will be able to:

1. Identify the uses of a database.
2. Identify the parts of a datase.
3. Create Tables
4. Define field attributes in a table and add data.
5. Create Forms
6. Create querries
7. Create Reports
8. Link tables
9. Create a finished database.


Activities


1. Students will take part in guided lessons that demonstrate each objective.
2. Students can create a database of book books, music, movies or any other topic of interest.
3. Students can collect weather data around the world and add it to a database.
4. Students can collect data for a science project and add it to a database.
5. Students can create a picture database.
